Well, almost...

The truth is - yes, the Elferrat should have more than 11 memebers. The task of the Elferrat is to organize and run the Karneval events. So, although they may seem a little lazy and boring up there on the stage - their work is (almost) done when they are up there. Most of the members have special tasks and are therefore called "Minister" (not to confuse with the american "minister" - the best translation is "secretary of ...").

Then, of course, with many ministers it takes someone to lead them - that is the Elferrats President

The current (2010) Elferrats President is Holger Claus.

The Zeremonienmeiser (master of ceremony) is Hans Lietz

For the events the Elferrat dresses up...

but sometimes ....

Not to forget the Musikmeister (Juergen Picard) who makes the music and provides the equipment to run the show..
